Vintage 2024

It is too early to draw conclusions, but from our experience we can make a point:
vintages that are too perfect, leading to equally perfect grapes, sometimes remain somewhat anonymous vintages. Conversely, somewhat difficult vintages are then characterized in more expressive wines.

Let's analyze the vintage in Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco in technical terms.
Rainy spring (April to mid-June) and, at the same time, low average temperatures for the season. These conditions curbed vegetative development, which until early July had led the plants to develop sparse clusters with small berries.
In July and August the weather totally changed course. Temperatures rose abruptly with peaks above 35°C. “Tropical nights” (temperatures above 20°C overnight) complicated the process of maintaining the necessary acidity, but the September weather, especially in the last three weeks with cool nights and some rain, marked the aromatic picture typical of the grape variety.

We just have to wait a few months, after winter stabilization of the bases, to fully understand what the 2024 vintage will be like!!!
